Bethany L. LaFlam grew up in Northeastern Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Political Science. Ms. LaFlam then moved to Southern California to pursue her legal education at Pepperdine University’s School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in May 2000.

Ms. LaFlam is admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of California as well as in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Business and Corporate Law Section, the American Inns of Court and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Ms. LaFlam is also licensed as a Real Estate Broker with the California Department of Real Estate.

Prior to founding LaFlam Sullivan, Ms. LaFlam practiced business litigation in Los Angeles, representing large corporations primarily in complex litigation and employment matters. In this capacity, she has gained valuable experience maximizing resources for businesses to efficiently resolve disputes with clients, vendors and employees. Ms. LaFlam is experienced in determining the most efficient and effective manner for starting and growing businesses, providing protections for emerging and growing businesses and handling ongoing business needs. Additionally, her litigation background, particularly in the employment law area, provides a considerable foundation for her ability to provide risk-avoidance and risk-minimizing training to employers, managers and business owners. Ms. LaFlam’s understanding of a business’ needs combined with her legal experience allow her to provide clients with the fundamentals for the success of their business.

Laura M. Sullivan attended law school at Case Western Reserve University in Clevland, Ohio, where she received a full scholarship and earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, in 1995. She graduated from Fordham University, summa cum laude, in 1992.

After practicing with the large Cleveland law firm of Reminger & Reminger as a litigation partner, Laura relocated to Orange County, where she primarily represented a prominent sports agency. Since joining LaFlam Sullivan in 2004, Laura has continued her practice in the area of complex business litigation involving a wide variety of issues including employment practices, trade secret and unfair competition, breach of contract, bankruptcy, partnerships, insurance, franchise, real estate and other commercial disputes, in both state and federal courts.

Laura has handled numerous trials before juries and judges and arbitration hearings, as well as appeals before state courts and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Sixth Circuits. Notably, Laura won the complete reversal by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals of a multi-million dollar judgment in the highly publicized case brought by Leigh Steinberg's sports agency against David Dunn and his sports agency.

Laura is a member of the Bars of California, Ohio and Colorado. She is a frequent speaker and has been published numerous times on employment, commercial and professional malpractice issues.
